Electronic Cam Motion Control
From concept to design, construction, and programming, Minarik Value-Added Services is your motion control resource. The system in figure (photo #2) performs sophisticated cam following and servo positioning of a single axis. The 10-horsepower induction motor is driven by a variable frequency drive and controlled by a PC-based motion controller. The system is commanded and monitored remotely through an Ethernet interface using the Modbus-TCP protocol. A small HMI provides local control capability. The system also features two independent safety E-stop systems for both controlled (powered) stops and uncontrolled (power-off) emergency stops. Figure (photo #1) shows the system during initial startup with the remote interface running on the computer monitor.
